Juraj Gažmerčík is a student of the Department of Composition at the Music Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. He studied percussion with Petr Solárik and István Szabó, and composition with Katarína Koreňová at the Ján Levoslav Bella Conservatory in Banská Bystrica. In 2017, he received a Master’s degree in Musicology from Comenius University in Bratislava. As a performer, he has performed in several groups and ensembles, the most valuable of which are the Banská Bystrica band Regale and the Bossa Nova project of the João Gilberto Quartet. He teaches percussion and occasionally publishes on music and art.
