The Song of Love and Death (Troupová & Červinek & Dušek)

8 / 5 / 2022 at 19:30

01 Dusek Troupova Cervinek

The rarely performed extensive song cycle Harawi, a key work by the French composer Olivier Messiaen, whose death 30 years ago is commemorated this year, will be performed by soprano Irena Troupová alongside pianist Jan Dušek. Both are among the most respected interpreters of 20th century music, which promises an extraordinary musical experience.

The evening will be completed by the young baritone Robin Červinek, who has won many awards, in works by Paul Dukas and Marcel Dupré – both teachers of Olivier Messiaen. Their work, not only their songs, is almost unknown to the Czech audience, and the songs will most likely be presented in Prague for the very first time.

Programme:

  • Olivier Messiaen: Harawi
  • Paul Dukas: Sonnet de Ronsard (Amours)
  • Marcel Dupré: A l´amie perdue

Performers:

  • Irena Troupová – soprano
  • Robin Červinek – baritone
  • Jan Dušek – piano

The works will be performed in French and accompanied by Czech subtitles.
